Small Works Roster
Vendors or contractors interested in working with us should sign up for a free membership at www.mrscrosters.org, the service we use to manage our public works, construction projects, and contracting of most services.
Informal Solicitations
For most purchases under $150,000 we will solicit electronic or written quotations (depending on scope and estimated cost of work) from vendors and contractors listed on the MRSC rosters.
Formal Solicitations
As a general rule, an Invitation for Bid (IFB) is used for construction projects estimated at $150,000 or more. Formal competitive solicitations are advertised in the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce.
Sealed bids/proposals must be received and time stamped by Community Roots Housing prior to the submittal deadline. All late bids/proposals are returned to the vendor/offeror without being opened. Public bid openings are held at Community Roots Housing office at the specific time and date stated in the IFB. During the bid opening, only the name of the vendor and total amount is read aloud. Vendors are welcome to attend the bid openings.

Community Roots Housing is committed to seeing that the access to the jobs generated by our projects help lift up the community. We establish goals to promote participation and inclusion of Women- and Minority-Owned Businesses (WMBE) in our major development projects.
