Each year, Community Roots Housing (formerly Capitol Hill Housing) hosts Omnivorous, a food and beverage showcase featuring tastings from some of the finest bars, restaurants and distilleries in the Seattle area, all in support of Community Roots’ work to build vibrant, engaged communities.
Spice up your October
We had a lot of fun at last year’s virtual Omnivorous, but now that there are safe ways to gather, we know everyone is hungry for an in-person affair. We’ll be taking a measured approach and following safety guidelines, but we can’t wait to celebrate together and take fun off the back burner!

Have your cake & eat it too
When you come to Omnivorous, not only do you get to enjoy a smorgasbord of food and drink samples from the hottest spots on the Seattle culinary scene, you also get the opportunity to support a mission vital to this region: affordable housing. At Community Roots Housing, we believe everyone has the right to a quality, affordable home, and we invite all our neighbors to join us in this pursuit.
We’re not saying Omnivorous is the best thing since sliced bread… but we won’t object if you say it. Whether you’re participating in person or want to pitch in ahead of time virtually, we think you’ll find these photos of past Omnivorous delicacies particularly appealing.
A taste of last year's Omnivorous
Last year’s event kicked off with a cocktail class. Experts over at L’Oursin provided a step-by-step tutorial on how to mix up a bitter kir, featuring Fernet-Branca. Additional food and drink lessons hosted by local culinary scene experts began after the main program concluded.
